Kansas City Claims FB Oliver Hoyte off Waivers

Kansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Monday that the club claimed FB Oliver Hoyte off waivers
from the Dallas Cowboys. Per NFL rules, Hoyte will play under terms of his previous contract signed with Dallas.
Hoyte (6-3, 252) appeared in 22 games (15 starts) at fullback in two seasons with Dallas (2006-07).
Used primarily as a blocking back, Hoyte tallied three receptions for 12 yards (4.0 avg.). He saw action in 10 contests
(nine starts) at fullback for the Cowboys in 2007, logging one reception for two yards. Hoyte saw duty in 10 games
(nine starts) as a rookie in 2006 after moving from linebacker to fullback a month into the regular season.
He originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with Dallas in 2006. Hoyte was a four-year letter winner at
North Carolina State at linebacker, posting 340 tackles, 37.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. He
prepped at Chamberlain High School in Tampa, Florida and led that school to a 5A state championship in 2001.
